Amanda Schumacher envisioned Tree of Life Resource Centers that connect gifts, talents and resources to meet global needs through twenty-two branches — from addiction recovery and education to medical care, housing and human rights.
The Foundation allocates 100% of all donations to the individuals and organizations supported by its branches.

Founded during the 2020 pandemic, the Resource Center grew from emergency food assistance into a permanent community hub serving more than 550 families each week.

Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday at the Resource Center. Individuals, companies, churches and community groups are welcome. Volunteers age 16 and older may serve independently; younger volunteers can participate alongside a family member.
Sort, count and restock in-kind donations in the donation room. Some lifting is required.
Prepare food bags and boxes for the families who visit the Center each week.
Count and bag items, load carts and help families bring resources safely to their cars.
Help Spanish-speaking clients develop their English-language skills.
Answer calls and schedule appointments. Spanish or Haitian Creole and Google Calendar experience are helpful.
Support clients with job searches and creating or updating professional résumés.
Food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, first-aid items, medical equipment, diapers, books, toys, furniture, household goods, school supplies and more. Items go directly to the people served — they are not sold in a thrift store.

Amanda Schumacher is a visionary, business owner, philanthropist and humanitarian dedicated to empowering local and global communities. In 2006 she founded Tree of Life Foundation International, where she serves as CEO — consolidating twenty-two branches and distributing resources worldwide through Tree of Life Resource Centers.
She also founded Tree of Life Enterprise Services, whose profits support the Foundation, and the Tree of Life Center, which provides transitional housing. The Foundation hosts the annual Global Heart Awards, recognizing outstanding philanthropic contributions from around the world.

Appointments avoid long outdoor lines, protect neighboring businesses and help a small staff welcome hundreds of families each week with dignity and respect. Please do not arrive without an appointment.
There is a limit of 10 items per household in the clothing and household room. The space and its resources must be treated with care and respect. Missing an appointment may result in a temporary suspension of services.
Available food changes with inventory and donations. Sources include TEFAP, Palm Beach County Food Bank, Farm Share, CROS Ministries, local farms, corporations and individual donors.
